Amsterdam Dakar Challenge - Vertrek 7 November 2009
Het vertrek van de eerste groep van de Amsterdam Dakar Challenge 2009 vanuit 't Noorderlicht op de NDSM Werf in Amsterdam. On the 1st of December 2009 Team Afriki All Stars will be part of the Amsterdam Dakar Challenge - 3FM Serious Request Edition. Afriki All Stars - Wouter and Reinier with the Landrover Discovery - will follow the rest of the teams on their way to Dakar, Senegal straight through the Sahara. With 7.000 kilometer still to go we wanted to test our car which we did driving as fas east as possible in a few days! Tatra Works Team Paris-Dakar Intro
Tatra (works team) Paris-Dakar Rally introduction, when it was still a 28 day endurance race and not a 14 day sprint. Tatra trucks were so dominant on this rally they fell into the same political fate as the Mini Cooper's on the Monte Carlo Rally, the rally organisers came under pressure from ANOther(s) to make the event more even and give them a chance of winning, so we now have the 14 day sprint instead of the original 28 day endurance event, this means the ANOther(s) do not run out of spare parts because their trucks keep breaking down every other day. It is worth noting that the original works Tatra 815 6x6 support truck (Babca - granny) built in 1986 is still the same support truck as used now by the Loprais team albeit with a few bullet holes in the bodywork but very few major repairs. Senegal - Dakar and St. Louis
Walking through the streets of Dakar and St. Louis. The video is shot unknowingly to the people as the small digital camera dangling around my neck appears not use. Filmed April 2009 The first couple of scenes are of the market streets in Dakar then a bush taxi ride to St. Louis beach where there is a large fishing village and then onto the historic city of St. Louis itself. The people in the streets of St. Louis were peacefully gathered supporting a muslim Sheik who appeared to have been jailed. Most were dressed in very vibrant clothes and dancing to the drum beats of the street gathering.

Dakar Rally Knokke 2010 Pre start
Apart from a too narrow,steep hills, Roland Hoebeke did try to get his havy truck over the hill for his fans and the press, but he tipped his truck during the pre-start in Knokke. The Dakar is really started form the first moment. All participants, including the Knokke-Heist participants Steve and Yves Vandenberghe and Patrick Hillewaere were with their noses pressed to reality. From now on you need to be in perfect condition and full of concentration. And last but not least the great teamwork and friendship of the Dakar Rally.
