Apart from a too narrow,steep hills, Roland Hoebeke did try to get his havy truck over the hill for his fans and the press, but he tipped his truck during the pre-start in Knokke. The Dakar is really started form the first moment. All participants, including the Knokke-Heist participants Steve and Yves Vandenberghe and Patrick Hillewaere were with their noses pressed to reality.
